NEW! In 2005, Jolene initiated a pre-professional mentorship called SURGE. SURGE offers performance opportunities for younger dancers who are committed to their dance studies. Jolene provides coaching and performance experiences for talented young dancers, with some of these dancers making appearances in the Company’s shows. Younger dancers have appeared in Climbing to the Moon (October 2005), Rooms With A View (April 2006), SWITCHBACK (July 2006), GEARSHIFTING (November 2006), Evolution (February 2008) and landing on a ship in the middle of the ocean in the middle of the night (May 2008).  Dedicated to nurturing the talents of young dancers, future artists, future audiences and generating new audiences for modern dance, Jolene strives to create projects that are fresh, stimulating and are of interest to both the dance community and the general public.
